Insight from a chat with the Oregonian's Jason Quick: he says Greg Oden is 99.99% likely to be the top pick, Jarrett Jack and Zach Randolph are on the trading block, the Blazers are more or less out of the running for Rashard Lewis but are in the hunt for a big name small forward like Shawn Marion, Sergio Rodriguez is in the long-term plan, and the only player the Portland would consider trading the top pick for is LeBron James (they have been offered, he says, two Western Conference Hall of Famers and turned both down, he says). (Notes from the chat here.)

it looks like rashard wont be coming here but marion might be a possibility. i;m wondering if phx would be interested in zach since amare seems to be on the trading block. it doesnt make much sence since phx is looking to get out of the luxury tax threshold and taking on zachs contract wont give them any relief. marion would be a great addition since he is one of the top rebounders in the leage and can play good defence. |

Idk why Phoniex would trade Amare. I unerstand trading Marion or Diaw but why Amare??? I think Marion would be a good fit in Portland

Jack's on the block? He did a good job for us, maybe if he's on the block that means we're going after Conley??? Marion would be an awesome addition, imagine he and Roy on the floor together...

im happy with jack at the point. i wouldnt give up too much to ttrade up to get conley. with oden, randolph, and roy we wouldnt need an all star type pg, if conley even is that good.

If you paired Conley and Oden together, who knows what might happen. They have played together for years and could be a deasly combo

jack is doing the job though and i feel that we may take a step back at the pg position if we get conley. jack is a veteran for our team and he is still young who is improving. conley and oden may have played together a while but that was in high school and college. NBA is a whole different ball game.

Yeah Jack knows the system, & he's got size. Conley is quick but I'm not sure if he's worth giving up Jack + maybe future picks for. Sergio may turn out to be a more than capable backup too. If we do get a point guard it should be a veteran guy. Imagine having Chauncey Billups running the team we'd be in business.

Jack is doing good and he's going to continue to get better so I agree that he's not worth extra picks as well
