Most agonizing home defeat: Jan. 30, Cleveland steals an 84-83 win: The Cavaliers grab a victory from the Blazers when All-Star LeBron James blows past Brandon Roy for a game-winning reverse layup in traffic with 0.9 seconds left. In the most impressive individual performance by a visitor at the Rose Garden this season, James delivers the crushing defeat by scoring 17 of his game-high 37 points in the fourth quarter, nine of which are three-pointers with less than five minutes left in the game. Cleveland outscores the Blazers 14-2 to close the win.

Did-that-just-happen Greg Oden moments: In the Blazers' home opener, with a spotlight shining on him in a darkened Rose Garden, Oden rises from the team bench using crutches and emphatically tosses them to the ground. In his first steps since undergoing microfracture surgery in September, he walks onto the court and announces his teammates in pregame introductions. Months later, during a home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on April 8, Oden dons a helmet and shoots toy basketballs into the crowd during a timeout, revealing the carefree, spontaneous attitude that has made him a fan favorite. Thoughts from the Blazers:

Coach Nate McMillan: "One of our goals was to be a better homecourt team and to give the fans something they could appreciate, something they could take pride in. We wanted to give them a reason to come back. I think these guys have done that by coming out and playing hard every single night, and it's been a home-court advantage. Our crowd has been great all season long and they have certainly helped us in a number of games. Our guys have fed off that. We wanted to get that Rose Garden jumping again and I think we've done that."

All-Star guard Brandon Roy: "I think our fans have responded great this season. We're at 27 (home) wins right now and we're going to try and make it 28. That's just a credit to the fans. I think once they saw they had a bunch of young guys who were going to play hard and give it 110 percent, they came on strong. They have definitely been the difference because we elevated our play and they definitely did a great job of elevating the way they came ready to cheer us on and help us to big wins."

Starting point guard Steve Blake: "Whenever the crowd is behind us, the way it's been this year, it makes it a lot more fun. I don't know how many sellouts we've had, but it feels like every game is sold out, you can just feel the intensity and energy in the building every game. Some people don't think it makes a difference, but to us, it really does. We feed off that and obviously, looking at our record, it does make a difference for us."
